Markings: The top of the barrel is marked, “CIMARRON’S REPEATING ARMS. FREDERICKSBURG.TEXAS.U.S.A. / –KING’S IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29.1866.OCTOBER 16.1860”. The top of the chamber is marked, “Centennial 1876”. The left chamber shoulder is marked, “CAL. 45-60”. The bottom of the receiver is marked, “CAT.13748”. The bottom of the tang is marked, “CN0028”. The upper tang is marked, “Model 1876”.
Barrel Length: 28” Octagonal
Sights / Optics: The front sight is a white beaded serrated blade dovetailed to the barrel. The rear sight is a buckhorn elevator sight that is dovetailed to the rear of the barrel.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with capped forend, straight grip, straight comb and crescent steel buttplate. There are some light scratches and a couple small compression marks on the stocks. There are no nicks, chips, or cracks. The LOP measures 13.2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.
Type of Finish: Bone Charcoal Case Hardened receiver, trigger, hammer, and lever. Blued barrel and buttplate.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright with well defined rifling. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in Excellent condition. There are a few very light scratches and scuffs on the right side of the barrel most like from storage wear in its factory box. Other than that this rifle is exceptionally clean and well kept.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards. Has lever safety. Lever must also be gripped to allow trigger pull.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with its factory box with Owner’s Manual and paperwork.
Our Assessment: Based on The Gun That Won The West, the 1873, by far Winchester’s most successful run of repeating rifles, the Centennial 1876 was created for the purpose of Big Game Hunting. Chambered in more powerful cartridges with a heavier frame, the 1876 would prove to be a favorited rifle in the hands of none other than Teddy Roosevelt in his early expeditions. This modern reproduction is the .45-60 version with 28” octagonal barrel similar to the Sporting Rifle.
