Vintage Ruger No. 3 Single Shot 30-06 Falling Block Hunting Rifle 1977

SOLD FOR: $1000.01

Make: Sturm Ruger

Our Assessment:  The Ruger No. 3 Single Shot Rifle was introduced in 1972 by Sturm, Ruger & Co., an American firearms manufacturer based in Southport, Connecticut. The rifle was designed by Bill Ruger, the founder of the company, and was intended as a modern update of the classic single shot rifles of the 19th century.

The No. 3 was chambered for a variety of cartridges, including .22 Hornet, .223 Remington, .30-40 Krag, .375 Winchester, and .45-70 Government, among others. It featured a falling block action, which was operated by a lever located under the trigger guard.

The No. 3 was well-received by both hunters and collectors, who appreciated its classic design and modern features. It remained in production until 1987, when it was discontinued due to low sales. However, it was briefly reintroduced in 2003 as a limited-edition rifle, and today it is highly sought after by collectors.

Overall, this Ruger No. 3 Single Shot Rifle is a classic example of American firearms design and innovation, and it remains a favorite of hunters and collectors alike.  This rifle is chambered in 30-06, a favorite hunting round among American Hunters.  Ruger never made a No. 3 in 30-06 which makes this a custom rifle.  Please see our photos, specs below on this vintage rifle, and good luck on your bid!
