Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “.38 S&W SPL. +P”. The right side of the barrel is marked “SMITH & WESSON”. The right side of the frame is marked with a Marcas Registradas. The left side of the frame has a S&W Monogram. Both grips have S&W medallions. The yoke cut is marked “DCA1000 / 40-1”. The crane is marked “300”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a low-profile serrated ramped blade that is integral to the rib. The rear sight is a square notch at the rear of a “U” channel on top of the frame.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are 2 piece checkered walnut with S&W medallions at their tops. The grip screw is tool marked. There are a few scattered light handling marks. The checkering is strong. There are no cracks. The rear right grip has a very small chip. Overall, these grips are in about Very Good condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This handgun retains about 97% of its metal finish. There are some draglines from use and storage. There are a few faint scuffs. The cylinder also has a thin turn line. The screwheads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this revolver rates in about Very Good condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The double action is smooth. The cylinder locks up with minimal side-to-side movement. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
