Markings: The left side of the slide is marked “Carl Walther Waffenfabrik Ulm/Do / PPK/S Cal. 9mm kurz”, “Made in W. Germany” with the Walther Banner Logo. The right side of the slide is marked “193898”, “INTERARMS / ALEXANDRIA VIRGINIA” with a Nitro Eagle proof. The right side of the frame is marked “193898S”. The chamber is marked “74”, Ulm Antler Proof and Nitro Eagle. The bottom of the left grip is marked “MADE IN GERMANY” on the smooth border.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a dotted blade integral to the slide. The rear sight is a rectangular notch sight dovetailed to the slide with a white bar below the notch. The top of the slide is wavy serrated for glare reduction.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The grips are two-piece Walther checkered polymer grips with smooth borders and Walther Banners at their tops. The checkering is intact and attractive with minimal rub wear and a few faintly flattened peaks. Overall, the grips are in Very Good condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: One aftermarket 7rd 9mm magazine in Excellent condition.

Finish Originality: Original
Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. There is some minor fouling in the grooves. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8/10.
Overall Condition: This gun retains about 99% of its metal finish. There are a few minor scratches including some operation wear on the barrel. The Screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear and legible. Overall, this gun rates in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly; the slide retracts, the magazine drops free and the hammer and trigger operate correctly, although we have not test-fired this gun. The safety also functions as a decocking lever.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes with a total of one magazine.
Our Assessment: The Walther PPK/S is one of those timeless designs that just seems to get better with age. In truth, this pistol is so well designed, and features so many innovative and useful features, that it is still considered one of the premier self-defense/pocket pistols available today. This one is chambered in the useful .380 ACP Caliber, which, with modern loadings, makes a fine round for trail use, plinking, or even self defense round, especially when no larger pistol will fit anywhere without showing.
