Markings:  The bottom of the receiver is marked “857584”.  The bottom of the magtube is marked “857584”.  The top of the receiver has a WP Proof.  The left side of the Barrel is marked “MADE IN NEW HAVEN. CONN. U.S. OF AMERICA / WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL” and “WINCHESTER TRADE MARK” and “”MODEL 12-12 GA. 2 3/4” CHAM. FULL”. The plastic butt plate is marked “WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS CO.”.

Choke: Fixed, FULL choke.

Sights / Optics: Silver bead on a checkered rib.

Stock Configuration & Condition:  This shotgun has a wood semi pistol grip stock with a straight comb and a serrated wood pump grip. The pump grip has scattered scratches and compression marks throughout the surface of the wood. The finish remains mostly intact, there are no chips or cracks. The buttstock also has scratches and compression marks throughout the surface with a few spots where the finish has been removed. There are no visible chips or cracks. Overall the wood on this shotgun is in Good to Very condition for C&R considering its age. The buttplate has a few compressions and the peaks on the checkering are semi-dulled. Type of Finish: Blued.

Finish Originality: Original.

Bore Condition: The smooth bore is bright. There is no visible erosion. There is some visible fouling and some surface scratches. In this writer’s opinion the bore rates 8/10 for C&R in a shotgun given its age.

Overall Condition:  This shotgun retains about 70% of its metal finish. The balance of the metal shows thinning on the barrel, magazine tube and receiver. There are surface scratches and rust freckling throughout the receiver, barrel, and magazine tube.  The screw heads are sharp and pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this shotgun rates in about Good condition for C&R.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We have not fired this shotgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
