Markings: The left side of the barrel is marked “WINCHESTER Model 1894 TD — 30-30 Win. ONLY” and has the ovalled “WP” proof at the rear. The right of the barrel marked “Made by Miroku – Japan — Imported by BACO, Inc. – Morgan, Utah / Winchester is a registered trademark of Olin Corporation”. The underside of the receiver is marked with the serial number “00049ZW94C” and the underside of the barrel extension is matched and marked “00049”. The top tang is marked “WINCHESTER / MODEL 1894”. The lever plate is marked with “W”.

Sights / Optics: The front sight is a brass beaded serrated blade dovetailed to the front of the barrel. The rear sight is a “U” notch semi-buckhorn leaf and elevator sight dovetailed to the rear of the barrel. The top of the receiver has two pairs of drilled, tapped, and filled holes. The left side of the receiver is drilled, tapped and filled for a receiver sight (none included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are two-piece smooth walnut with capped forend, straight grip, straight comb, and checkered black hard rubber buttplate. The forend has a couple of small nicks in the bottom and there is a more notable ding in the right of the buttstock below the comb. There are no chips or cracks. The LOP measures 13 1/2″ from the front of the trigger to the back of the buttplate. The plate has minor wear and well-defined checkering. Overall, the stocks are in about Fine condition.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no erosion in the bore. In this writer’s opinion, the bore rates 10 out of 10.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 98% of its metal finish. There is a bit of light wear on the magazine tube behind the hanger and there is some light handling wear. The screw heads are sharp. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle is in about Excellent condition.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. This rifle has a rebounding hammer, a lever safety, and a tang safety. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: Included is a serial matching white box with cable lock.
Our Assessment: The Model 1894, or simply 94 as it is now known, is one of the most popular lever action rifles ever. This is a Winchester Model 94 Trails End Takedown, made in 2014 with a 20” round barrel chambered in .30-30 Win. This rifle looks like it has hardly ever been outside of its included box and retains about 98% of its metal finish. This rifle is ready for some time at the range, in the field, or to be kept in its Excellent condition to be collected and passed down to future generations. Please see our photos and good luck!
