Our Assessment: Made between 1972 and 2004, the Winchester Model 9422 was introduced as a way to try and earn back Winchester’s reputation after the post-1964 manufacturing changes. Utilizing a modified version of Winchester’s Model 61 slide-action mechanism, while retaining the look and feel of the Model 1894, the 9422 was a successful endeavor.

This is a near-new example that appears to have never been shot. The receiver has lovely engravings of a coonhound and a raccoon that would lend itself to being a nice display piece. The checkered walnut buttstock and forend of the high grade give the rifle a nice feel that is easy to handle. There is also the option of taking down the rifle, with a non-descript single screw at the left-rear of the receiver. This rifle would be a great addition to any Winchester or lever action collection. Please see our photos and good luck bidding!  C.J.
