Markings: Right side of the receiver is marked “MDL:O-PAP M70 / CAL 7.62X39MM”, “FIRE”, “SAFE”, “Read Owner’s Manual Before Use”, “C.A.I. GEORGIA, VT”. The bolt is marked “0-PAP001697”. The left side of the receiver is marked “0-PAP001697 / ZASTAVA, SERBIA”. Rear sight is marked “1-10” and “O” for the battle position. Buttstock is marked “68347” with a Serbian Crest. The barrel is marked with some proof marks and “5”. The trigger is marked “TAPCO G2”. The muzzle brake has a Primary Weapons Systems PWS Logo.
Barrel Length: 16.25” threaded. 17.5” with PWS muzzle brake.
Sights / Optics: The front sight is an adjustable post and the rear sight is a “U” notched tangent leaf sight marked from “1-10” and “O”. The left side of the receiver has a scope mounting rail.
Stock Configuration & Condition: The handguard and buttstock are Yugo wood with three cooling slots on each side of the handguard. This is a Yugoslavian build so there is no tang on the rear of the receiver for the buttstock and the handguard is the larger size compared to standard AK furniture. Only Yugo styled furniture will fit this series of AK. The receiver is an RPK styled receiver with 1.5mm thickness compared to the standard 1.0mm thickness. This allows for a more reliable and durable firearm as the RPK is made to shoot larger capacities of ammunition. The barrel is non-chrome lined. Non-Chrome lined barrels are more accurate to their counterparts. Most 7.62×39 ammo is non corrosive so it isn’t too much of an issue and the higher accuracy is a huge pro. The pistol grip is checkered polymer. Has strengthened dust cover system. There are a couple small compression marks on the wood. The LOP measures 13.25 from the front of the trigger to the back of the rubber buttpad. The stock rates in about Excellent overall condition.
Magazine Quantity & Condition: Two Yugo 30rd 7.62×39 magazines in Very Good-Excellent condition. The springs are strong and the leading edges are sharp.

Bore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is sharp. There is no visible erosion in the bore.
Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 99% of its metal finish. The balance of the finish shows no wear on the magazine well except for some minor finish loss on the mag catch as to be expected. There are some very light scratches on the receiver and dust cover from storage. The screw heads are sharp and serviceable and the pins are unmarred. The markings are clear. Overall, this rifle rates in about Excellent condition. The internals are very well oiled and clean, nearly pristine.
Mechanics: The action functions correctly. We did not fire this rifle. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance requirements.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This rifle comes with a total of two magazines, its original slant muzzle brake as well as the currently attached PWS brake, owner’s manual, and Factory Box with foam inserts.
Our Assessment: The O-PAP M70 is one of the sturdiest rifles to come out of the Zastava factory. This AK is Solidly built like a tank and all of its equipment and parts are tight. Serbia is one of those names notorious in the AK world for making high quality and long lasting AKs. Its modern production does mean that if you just need a Kalashnikov type rifle to bang around, you won’t feel guilty about it and knowing it hasn’t been abused in the past makes all the more reason to grab this fresh rifle. This firearm packs a serious punch and brings a lot of potential for self-defense, target practice, hunting, or just general fun-having. The O-PAP is a different kind of beast as it flaunts a thicker receiver comparable to the RPK and boasts a Hammer Forged Barrel that isn’t Chrome Lined to ensure longevity and increased accuracy. If you want versatility and power and an AK that stands out from the rest in its Yugoslavian styled aesthetic, then this is the gun to make that arsenal stand out. Good Luck!
